Game Changer Box Office Update
On its opening day, Game Changer earned ₹51 crore, but the collections dropped steadily over the weekend, making ₹21.6 crore on Saturday and ₹15.9 crore on Sunday. While it’s normal for earnings to decrease on weekdays, the movie had the advantage of releasing during the festive season.
The movie faces tough competition from Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, released on January 12, and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, releasing on January 14. Despite January 13 being Bhogi (a festive day), the movie recorded low occupancy, with 12.79% in the morning, 21.60% in the afternoon, and 25.07% in the evening for its Telugu version. The Tamil and Hindi versions had even lower turnout.
With upcoming festivals like Sankranthi, Kanuma, and Mukkanuma on January 14, 15, and 16, it is uncertain if the film’s collections will improve.
The movie stars Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, and SJ Suryah.
Piracy Issues
Game Changer also suffered due to piracy. An HD print was leaked online on its release day, and key plot details were shared even before the film hit theaters. Producer Dil Raju filed a complaint with cyber police, accusing the pirates of trying to extort money before the leak.
The movie received mixed reviews after its release.
